Meet Robert Sherwood
Robert Sherwood is the President of Sherwood Marketing & Media, and has over 35 years of business, sales and marketing experience spanning a wide variety of industries, from hospitality, to home furnishings & appliances to automotive dealerships. He entered the Air Force at 18 years old, and served four years as an aircraft mechanic on F-4 fighter jets. Following the Air Force, Robert transformed a rundown lodge in the Southern CA mountains into a profitable business that he sold for profit, having worked all aspects of this business.
In his early 30’s, he worked for Polaris Pool Systems in a variety of roles, starting as a sales rep. His responsibilities quickly increased, and as the Western Regional Sales Manager overseeing four states, grew sales. He also served as Regional Training Manager, working directly with retailers to promote the products, utilize co-op funds and merchandise the retail stores. His last post in Southern CA led him to the automotive display advertising sales department at the Los Angeles Daily News, helping auto dealers with print advertising, large display ads and campaigns.
About 20 years ago, he and his wife relocated to the Spokane area to raise their family, working for a local radio station as a sales rep. His largest account was Wendle Ford, and after helping them with a few promotions and increasing their exposure, they offered him a position he could not refuse. It was at this point in his career that he became a “car guy,” shattering sales records and establishing successful advertising, inventory control and promotions at every turn. He also assisted in managing and training the sales staff. His 10+ years in automotive dealerships has given him great insight into dealers’ needs and the dealerships’ inner-workings.
Prior to starting Sherwood Marketing & Media, he worked as the VP of New Business Development at Progressive Marketing & Media where he worked with a diverse range of consumer market segments.
At every step of his career, he has used his drive and can-do attitude to break sales records and bring greater profitability to each business. His personal experience with sales and management responsibility in these various businesses translates into the insight and expertise he offers his clients at every stage of program development and execution.
